Christmas Concert in the Italian Senate in TV

The President of the Senate Elisabetta Casellati, on Sunday 15 December at 12.00 pm, will open the traditional Christmas Concert in the Senate, in the presence of the President of the Republic.
Exceptional protagonists of this XXIII edition of the concert – which ideally closes the first year of the “Senato & Cultura” event organized by President Casellati – will be the Maestro Riccardo Muti and the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra.
«The Christmas Concert, entrusted to the main representative of Italian culture in the world, Maestro Riccardo Muti, is an exceptional opportunity to celebrate the art, history and beauty of Italy. In a word: “Italianness” », states President Casellati.
After the national anthem, the President of the Senate will briefly greet the participants before the performance of pieces by Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Alfredo Catalani, Umberto Giordano, Giuseppe Martucci, Gioachino Rossini.
Milly Carlucci will present the event on the Italian National TV Channel Rai1. At the end of the concert an exchange of greetings is expected between the State authorities and the artists in the Sala Pannini of Palazzo Madama.
According to tradition, the entire taking from ticket sales will be donated to charity.
